1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Unshakable Thanksgiving

In Paul's final instructions to the Thessalonians, he gives a list of commands exhorting the Thessalonians to live in light of eternity. In one section, he commands that believers rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and be thankful in all circumstances. Though these commands are difficult as we walk in this world, they are not unrealistic expectations.

Psalm 103 - Cultivating a Heart of Thanksgiving

David praises and blesses God's name for His wonderful works. He preaches to himself, telling his own soul and everything within him to bless God. The first and most important reason God is owed praise is for forgiving our sin. We can never take our salvation to granted.

Luke 1:46-56 God is Owed Worship (The Magnificat)

Mary bursts forth in a heartfelt song of worship and praise to God. She focuses her reasons for magnifying God on who He is and What He has Done. God is owed our worship because of His grace, because of who he is, because of what he has done, and because of His faithfulness.
