John 4:1-14 The Gift of Living Waters

Jesus takes His mission to a most unlikely place. He goes through Samaria and there finds a woman at a well. She is an outcast but is offered the gift of God freely. Jesus promises those who drink His water will never thirst again.

John 3:35-36 The Unshakeable Christian Hope

As we look closer into this last statement of John in chapter three, we see a summary of all we have learned in chapter three. The believer in Christ has an unshakeable hope based on the Father's love for His Son - and this is where our Christian life is anchored.

John 3:22-36 He Must Increase But I Must Decrease

John the Baptist testifies that Jesus is greater than he. In responding to his disciples complaint about Jesus' increasing ministry, John shows us the tools for fighting against "self" and pride. Holding fast to the gospel and the truth of Christ is how we fight the temptation of pride.

John 3:16-21 God's Love and Man's Condition

John 3:1-16 You Must Be Born Again

John gives us picture of those in chapter 2 who "believed" but to whom Jesus did not entrust himself. Nicodemus is shown that his problem lies in the fact that he has not been born again. This is what we all need to hear. Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 2:13-25 The Lord Comes To His House

Jesus enters the Temple, runs out the sellers, and turns over the tables of the money-changers. Jesus is Zealous for true worship and so should we be. But Jesus also demonstrates that He is the true temple. He is the true place where worship, prayers, and sinners are accepted by God. Only through Him do we find peace with God, and He knows the inner most depths of our hearts.

John 2:1-11 Manifesting His Glory

Jesus does the first of His "signs" in the gospel of John. Turning the water used for ceremonial cleansing into wine is a picture of what Jesus came to do. He has taken away the outward ritual cleansing and has ushered in the new era of the New Covenant.

John 1:19-34 A Powerful Witness

John the Baptist's witness to the coming Christ was powerful and effective. God used him to prepare the way for the Messiah. As disciples, we are called to be a witness to Christ and to make disciples. How can we be a powerful witness for Christ as John was?

John 1:6-13 The Word Who Demands A Response

In John's prologue, right at the beginning, he shows us that the testimony of Jesus demands a response from men. There are only two possible responses - to reject Him or to receive Him. It is only those who receive Him who are born of God. John defines what "receiving Him" entails.

1 Corinthians 12:12-26 Your Part In The Body

Paul instructs the Corinthians in the proper use of their gifts. Each member of the body of Christ is both useful and in need of the other members. No one can say "I am not needed," and no one can say, "I don't need anyone." The great commission is about making disciples, therefore our mission is people.

Psalm 103 - Cultivating a Heart of Thanksgiving

David praises and blesses God's name for His wonderful works. He preaches to himself, telling his own soul and everything within him to bless God. The first and most important reason God is owed praise is for forgiving our sin. We can never take our salvation to granted.

Philippians 2:1-4 Being United in Fellowship

Paul exhorts the Philippians to unite with one another. Believer must invest themselves in one another because of what Christ has done for them.
